Roger: As someone who is concerned about the environment, can you really be a proponent of "Infinite Monkeys?"
Me: well, monkeys produce less carbon dioxide than say a cow
Roger: oh, so we should replace cows with monkeys and eat bushmeat.

Today I ran in a 25km trail run around Angel Island - that's 15.5 miles - with 2,100 feet of uphill!!! All-time record for this monkey. Admittedly I ran REALLY slow, but eh, i finished!
=) Too bad I'm going to miss the next race which is going to be 28K. Guess I'll have to break my record some other time.

This is such sad news that I'm crying as I post it. My sister and brother in law's dog Kumo died last night. I know she wasn't even my dog, but she was the coolest dog I've ever met and was more like a little kid than a dog. I posted this picture of her a couple months ago but here it is again.

I just realized that the Public Utilities Commission has been using 2 cameras to capture the hearings I've been in for the last week and a half. So there's a camera on the witness and one on the attorney asking questions.
yay. so the whole world has access to my absolute crash and burn disaster of a cross examination yesterday. blech.

I haven't been updating this journal much recently, but things have been going well for me. I've been keeping busy with WoW, climbing, running and band practice. I've stepped up my running significantly over the past few months and here's a sample of what I've been doing with my weekends lately.

hallooo i'm back. well, I've been back from japan for a week but was sick with a stomach flu (yay!). I won't promise to post pics bcs I never seem to actually do it. I'll just make sure to give my pics to Tobin and just link to his blog when he posts pics hah.
Adam and I are off to the desert for Thanksgiving with my sister and brother-in-law and some friends. It's going to be a weekend full of rednecky and likely geeky fun - off-roading on quads, shooting a 50cal rifle and other assorted firearms, playing with black powder muskets, cooking meals in cast iron Dutch ovens, maybe some geocaching, and maybe if I'm lucky Beckie and D will bring fireworks heh even if it's just litlle stuff it'd be fun.

I just got back from band practice, and I am SOOOO HAPPY that I'm playing music again. And not just any old music, but fun, kick-in-the-pants Balkan dance music. It makes me want to jump up and down while playing. (well, assuming I could get enough breath to do so).
In addition, my chops are building back up so that I'm already moving back up to harder reeds. Whohoo!
